T2 Tea

Best teas to drink in the morning

Mornings aren't one-size-fits-all, and neither is the tea that should kick yours off. Some days call for something bold and malty that gets you moving. Others need a steadier kind of lift, energised without the jitters. The good news: there's a T2 blend for every version of that first cup, and we've pulled our favourites together in one place.

For the classic wake-up call: Morning Sunshine

It does exactly what it says. Morning Sunshine blends Assam, Darjeeling and Rwandan black teas into something robust and malty, with a touch of muscatel and mellow fruitiness underneath. Bright, brisk and built to stand up to milk, this is the tea for mornings that need momentum, not a gentle nudge.

For something with a story: Melbourne Breakfast

This one's ours through and through. Melbourne Breakfast is a black tea blend laced with vanilla, sweet, malty and unmistakably smooth, and it's become the tea most people associate with T2. It's got all the comfort of a classic breakfast brew with a little more warmth in the finish. Brew it strong for a proper wake-up, or let it steep lighter for something you'll sip slowly.

For an energy hit without the coffee jitters: Wakey Wakey

This one's ours through and through. Melbourne Breakfast is a black tea blend laced with vanilla, sweet, malty and unmistakably smooth, and it's become the tea most people associate with T2. It's got all the comfort of a classic breakfast brew with a little more warmth in the finish. Brew it strong for a proper wake-up, or let it steep lighter for something you'll sip slowly.

For steady, sustained energy: Matcha

Our 100% Certified Organic Matcha is ceremonial-grade, shade-grown in Shizuoka and stone-ground into a vibrant jade powder, fresh, grassy and lightly sweet with a smooth umami body. The L-theanine in whole-leaf matcha slows how the caffeine releases, so instead of a spike and a crash you get a longer, steadier stretch of focus. Whisk it neat or into warm milk for a matcha latte.

For mornings that need a lift: French Earl Grey

Not every morning wants to be brisk and businesslike. French Earl Grey takes a medium-bodied black tea base and dresses it up with rose, sunflower and hibiscus petals, finished with a touch of bergamot. It's fruity rather than sharp, floral rather than heavy, best on its own rather than with milk, so the citrus and petals can actually do their thing.

New in: No Filter

Our newest addition, and a genuinely different way to start the day. No Filter combines green tea with tulsi (holy basil), stinging nettle, barberry, spearmint and strawberry pieces. Tulsi brings a herbaceous, faintly peppery character that's held an important place in Ayurvedic tradition for thousands of years; barberry adds a bright, tart fruitiness against the sweetness of strawberry; spearmint lifts the whole cup with a cool, clean freshness. The result is fresh and uplifting, with cooling mint, juicy strawberry and a gently herbaceous green tea finish underneath. Fresh, fruity, minty and confidently different.
