Meet Esther Olsson - Artist Behind Our Limited Edition Australian Breakfast Tea Set

From golden wattle and native blooms to creatures found nowhere else on earth, Australia's landscapes are filled with colour, personality and stories waiting to be told.

Melbourne-based artist Esther Olsson brings that spirit into her work through bold colour, playful symbolism and richly layered compositions. Her artwork transforms familiar elements of the natural world into expressive visual stories, where native symbols, organic forms and joyful colour come together in harmony.

Much of that instinct goes back to childhood. Esther grew up on a small hobby farm, where a gum tree that fell in the backyard, its trunk curved just so, became a homemade waterslide. "Nature is a very creative and inspiring thing," she says. "The colours and the patterns that you see in nature is really exciting to me." These days, life moves at what she calls a "turtle lifestyle," built around routine and the odd bush wander through the Yarra Bend, where the bats come out at night and the track leads on to the river.

As part of Tea to Take You Places, Esther has created the design for Australian Breakfast, capturing the colour, character and spirit of Australia through her own creative lens. Native animals sit alongside bursts of golden wattle, creating a vibrant composition that feels like Australia distilled into colour, shape and personality. Rather than recreating one particular landscape, Esther captures the feeling of the country itself: its bold natural beauty, unmistakable wildlife and optimistic spirit.

There is a sense of simplicity and joy in Esther's approach, the same joy she finds in a warm pastry at Iris the Bakery or a celebration with friends at La Pinta. Familiar symbols are transformed through colour and form, creating an artwork that feels both instantly recognisable and wonderfully fresh.

Paired with Australian Breakfast Tea, it's a design that feels like home: warm, unpretentious and full of native charm.
