Some of T2’s best creative moments started with someone saying: forget the rules.

Matt is a true creative in the sense that his references aren’t always where you might expect them. He’s more likely to be pulling inspiration from runway archives and fashion magazine tear-outs than browsing the homewares aisle. Abstract expressionism, pop art, the simplicity and impact of a single bold colour — those particular art moments are what eventually turn into the mug on your shelf or the gift wrap you open on Christmas.

“A lot of our inspiration actually comes from fashion, catwalks and magazine tear-outs, less so what other people are doing for homewares.”

And you can feel it in the work: there’s a tension in T2’s creative output that sits a little outside the category it lives in. The result is a visual identity built on punchy creative outbursts that nobody else is doing, balanced with a strict discipline of colour coding and packaging.
