Charles Dickens’ Baked Apples
“Blimey! This tea is delicious. It’s warming and flavourful, perfect for a cold day. Incredibly addictive, I find the sweetness really comes through when you add a dash of milk. To Be Read at Dusk is a suitably spooky read, and thoroughly recommended bedtime reading, when you are home alone… Sweet dreams…”– Matt, T2 Creative Lead

Penguin Little Black Classic
A delicious reimagining of the food Charles Dickens swore by.
The flavour profile
Starting with a sharp black tea base, and layered tastes of ripe, sweet plump apple pieces. To finish, we sprinkled in cinnamon to create a distinctively oven-baked taste.
The story behind it
The humble apple is ubiquitous in literature, from Greek mythology to the Brothers Grimm. But there are few bigger advocates for it than English novelist Charles Dickens. Dickens said a baked apple could do wonders, and it wasn’t just the irresistible sweetness he loved. He ate apples with lunch and dinner, praising them for their health benefits.
