After one double-tap of @panaceas_pantry’s Instagram had us almost drooling into our teacups, we knew we needed to collaborate!

Sitting down with Jade, the naturopath and plant-based recipe developer behind the account, we hit it off on what teas would be perfect to make into desserts and then chatted about all things wellness, flavour and (of course) tea!

So, Jade, tell us a bit about yourself!

Hey, I’m Jade! I’m a mother of two, a naturopath, food photographer, passionate vegan and recipe developer. When I’m not doing one of those things you'll find me in my garden, on my yoga mat, cooking, reading in front of the fire or, mostly, hanging out with my kids.

Can you share with us any favourite superfoods or wellness top tips?

My favourite superfoods are ones that you should find in your pantry or fridge. Rolled oats, fresh blueberries, mushrooms and spices. It’s easy to be persuaded that we need a myriad of superfoods for optimal health, but we have everything we could possibly need locally (and it’s much cheaper, too!). There are some great indigenous foods that I love – kakadu plumb, Tasmanian pepperberry and lemon myrtle being some of my favourites.

Can you tell us how you got into drinking tea and your fave tea at the moment?

I had just started drinking T2 when I was studying to be a naturopath. T2 curbed my cravings for two things – the need to drink a lot of herbal tea, and the need to do it with a friend or two, (my fellow tea-loving students at the time made that craving easy to curb!). My fave tea at the moment is Liquorice Legs! It’s so good just before bed.

What would you say inspires you creatively?

Timeout with a cup of tea, a digital detox or a long dose of uninterrupted Mother Nature!

Being a recipe developer, what are some of your favourite flavours or ingredients to work with?

I’m a sucker for herbs and spices. I love to use everyday ingredients like berries, nut butter and coconut and balance them out with a spiced or herbal twist. My favourites at the moment are cardamom, nutmeg, matcha or rose.

Do you have a go-to treat to satisfy your sweet tooth that’s still on the healthy side?

Oh, for sure. I have many, but my favourite would be a raw brownie with almond butter frosting. Having a decadent slice to enjoy is a must, and it’s nice to know my kids can share it, too, without going crazy from a sugar high.

Lastly, can you tell us a bit about your favourite tea ritual and what tea means to you?

For me, my tea ritual is the invitation to stop, if only to enjoy a cup of tea. Life seems to be running at a million miles an hour for just about everyone I know, and we all desire to be more present and enjoy the little moments. Tea embodies that philosophy. No matter how busy my day is, I always feel better when I stop for a moment and sip.
