The fine holes does a fantastic job of catching escapees from the infuser in my tea pot or tea flask. Some of the other reviews comment about this being shallow or lacking substance. Those people apparently do not understand the actual purpose of this item and how to use it. This is a strainer, NOT an infuser. Meaning it’s for catching the particles and small leaves that escape the infuser in your flask, mug, or tea pot from your already brewed tea, when you’re pouring it into your drinking cup. It’s NOT designed for steeping your tea leaves/brewing your tea. So, of course, if you use it as such, it will over flow.
