Meet Rocky's Matcha: LA's cult-favourite "traveling tea house," founded by Rocky Xu in 2022 from nothing more than a flea market pop up. Since then, it's landed everywhere from Paris Fashion Week to Milan Design Week. Part matcha, part culture, Rocky's brings serious Japanese sourcing credentials together with an eye for art, fashion and design, for a ritual that feels as at home in LA as it does in Kyoto.
Sourced from the renowned Osada Tea in Shizuoka, Japan, Okumidori lives up to its name, literally translating to "deep green." Vivid and vegetal, it's built for koicha (thick) style matcha lovers who want depth in every bowl.

Sustainable Packaging
Packaging that protects
Almost all of our packaging is recyclable, reusable or compostable and is marked with logos to support correct disposal.
Compostable teabags
Our tea has come packed in compostable teabags since 2021. Made from plant- based materials, both bag and string are made from Polylactic Acid (PLA), with a paper tag printed with vegetable ink. Heat-sealed, they’re also glue and staple-free.
Polylactic Acid is a biodegradable bioplastic made from plant sources – in our case, we've used corn starch.
Compostable shopping bags
Shopping in-store? Our uncoated shopping bags can be recycled (when you’re done reusing them). Please note, there is a small charge for carry bags.
Plant-based polybags
Our loose-leaf tea is wrapped in compostable plant-based polybags, which are compostable. We recommend checking with your local government’s green waste pick up service before placing bioplastics in your home compost bins.
Greener gift wrap
Aside from our stickers, our gift wrap is entirely recyclable.
