From cult following to global expansion.
Founded by Maryanne Shearer and Jan O’Connor, T2 began in 1996 with single store in Fitzroy, Melbourne. Tea was reimagined as a bold, design-led experience that turned a daily ritual into something extraordinary, one cup at a time.
Now nearly three decades on, T2 has grown globally, bringing colour and creativity to an online presence, innovative retail experiences, and hospitality partnerships. You can now find our extraordinary tea in some of your favourite restaurants and cafes

We’re on a journey to get better and better every year. Our tea has been 100% sustainably sourced since 2021, our organic teabags are compostable, and almost all of our packaging can be recycled.

Sensory sipping.
We create tea for the senses first. Our brews and blends are artfully crafted to take you on a journey of immersive aromas, and flavours that speak to where they came from.
We use whole tea leaves with minimal breakage, rather than low-grade dust or fannings. This retains essential oils and flavour compounds, creating complex flavour profiles with a multitude of notes that change subtly as you sip – making each cup of tea and extraordinary experience.
Almost all of our teaware is designed by creatives at our in-house design studio in Melbourne, others are sourced from interesting and extraordinary
studios from around the world - including France, Japan, India and Nepal.
