Naturally caffeine-free: what that actually means
There is an important distinction worth making upfront. Caffeine-free is not the same as decaffeinated. Decaffeinated tea starts as a tea leaf, which naturally contains caffeine, and goes through a processing step to remove most of it. Some caffeine typically remains.
Caffeine-free means the ingredients never contained caffeine to begin with. Herbs, flowers, fruit, roots, and spices simply do not have it. Peppermint is peppermint. Chamomile is chamomile. Ginger is ginger. There is nothing to remove because there was nothing there in the first place. Every blend in this collection is built entirely from these ingredients, which means they are genuinely, completely caffeine-free.
That matters if you are drinking tea in the evening, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you are sensitive to caffeine, or if you are simply someone who has decided to bring their daily intake down without giving up the ritual of a proper cup.
A closer look at some of the range
Just Peppermint and Just Chamomile are the two simplest and most honest blends in the collection. One ingredient, done well. If you have ever found peppermint tea to be thin or chamomile to be dusty, these are worth trying because the quality of the ingredient makes the difference.
Sleep Tight is one of the most popular blends in the T2 range across New Zealand, which says something about how many people are looking for an evening ritual that genuinely helps them wind down. The blend includes passionflower and lavender alongside citrus and chamomile, and the combination is noticeably calming rather than just flavourful.
The Dreamer and The Quiet Mind occupy similar territory but with different characters. The Dreamer is more floral and romantic. The Quiet Mind is more grounded and herbal. Both are genuinely good evening cups.
Tummy Tea is a minty, smooth blend that works well after a meal or at any point when your digestion needs a bit of support. It is a consistent bestseller for good reason.
How to think about the range by time of day
The blends in this collection cover a wider flavour territory than most people expect from caffeine-free tea, and it helps to think about them in terms of when you would reach for them.
Morning and daytime blends tend to be the brighter, more invigorating options. Just Peppermint is vivid and clean, genuinely refreshing rather than subtle. Lemongrass and Ginger brings warmth and a citrusy kick that wakes you up without caffeine. Mint Mix layers different mint varieties for something a bit more complex. These are the caffeine-free teas that do not feel like a compromise.
Afternoon and any-time blends include the fruit infusions: Packs a Peach, Pumping Pomegranate, Strawberries and Cream, and the new Spa Day. These are full of flavour and work as well with a biscuit at 3pm as they do in the evening. They also make excellent cold brews.
Evening blends are where the range earns its keep for people serious about sleep. Sleep Tight combines citrus, floral, and woody notes in a blend designed for the end of the day. The Quiet Mind is herbal and gentle. The Dreamer leans toward rose and florals with a soft citrus lift. Tummy Tea is a good choice after dinner if you tend to drink something warm before bed and want something that settles rather than stimulates.
