How to use the T2 Teamaker

If you’re looking for some helpful advice, you’ve come to the right place. Our ‘How to T2’ series shows you all the tricks and tips to get the most out of your T2 brew tools.

Now, let us introduce to you the T2 Teamaker – the new essential in every tea drinker’s collection.

This useful tool is your shortcut to a perfect cup of tea – thanks to it’s two key features. Firstly, it is designed to allow your loose leaf tea to float and move around much more than a regular infuser, so it steeps the fullest flavour from each and every leaf. The second feature is the extra fine strainer, which ensures very little tea leaves make it into your tea cup – resulting in a smooth, pure tea.

The Teamaker method, with extra advice

  • 1

Double check the filter/stainer is clipped into the bottom of your T2 Teamaker.

Please note, the filter/stainer can be removed for thorough cleaning after use.

  • 2

Open the lid at the top of the Teamaker and add 2 teaspoons of any loose leaf tea.

This method will make enough tea for about two cups.

As a general rule, use 1 teaspoon per 250ml of water. As the Teamaker has a capacity of 500ml, we recommend 2 teaspoons. But if you wanted to make a smaller batch, adjust to 1 teaspoon of loose leaf and 250ml of water.

Double check your tea packaging for the correct measurement of tea, some blends require more or less. You can also adjust this depending on your personal preferences.

  • 3

Open the lid, then carefully fill the Teamaker with water at the correct temperature until 2cm from the top.

You can check tea packaging to find the correct temperature, but as a general rule: black tea, herbal and fruit tisanes are brewed in 100°C water; green and white tea is brewed in 80°C water.

  • 4

Leave your tea to brew for the recommended brew time, set a timer to get this just right.

Watch as the tea leaves dance within the water, infusing you tea with their fullest flavour.

  • 5

Once your timer goes off, place the T2 Teamaker on top of your cup and watch the tea automatically flow through the filter and into your cup below. When your cup is almost full, simply lift and remove the T2 Teamaker to stop pouring.

The innovative ‘Shut Off’ system makes this the smartest and easiest way to brew and pour tea.

Is your narrow cup not activating the ‘Tea Flow’ and ‘Shut Off’ system? Then hover the Teamaker over you cup and carefully press the base (keeping your fingers away from the pourer in the centre) to release your tea into your cup.

Your tea in now ready to drink! So sit back, relax and enjoy every sip.

Now is the time to add any sweeteners, milk or garnishes to your tea.

Extra info and advice

  • Can you make iced tea with the Teamaker? Yes! Before pouring the tea into your mug, simply fill your mug with ice, then place the Teamaker on top to watch the tea pour into your cup. The ice will melt and cool your tea instantly. If you’re finding the iced tea is too diluted from the melted ice – simply let the tea in the Teamaker cool before pouring it over your ice.
  • What tea can be brewed in the Teamaker? Most loose leaf tea will brew beautifully in the Teamaker. If you can brew it in the standard tea infuser – you can brew it in a Teamaker. We do not recommend using teas containing turmeric, this will stain the inside of the Teamaker.
  • Is it safe to put boiling water in the Teamaker? The Teamaker is made with BPA-free Tritan material, which is safe for boiling water. Please pour with caution and care to avoid spillages, filling the Teamaker no more than 2cm to the top.
