What is spearmint tea?
Spearmint tea is made from Mentha spicata and offers a naturally mild and smooth flavour, a more delicate counterpart to peppermint. While peppermint tea bursts with cool intensity, spearmint leans into a softer, naturally sweet flavour, making it a popular choice for those after a calming, rounded mint experience. Although T2 Tea does not offer a pure spearmint-only tea, you’ll find its essence in two signature blends: Mint Mix (spearmint, peppermint & lemon verbena) and Detox (spearmint with fennel, juniper berries & lemongrass)
Why choose Spearmint blends
Steep your Mint Mix or Detox tea in freshly boiled 100°C water for 3–5 minutes. Enjoy it hot for a comforting moment, or try it chilled for a revitalising sip on warmer days.
To make spearmint loose leaf tea you’ll need tea tools like a teapot with an infuser or a tea strainer, a tea mug with infuser, or a T2 tea maker. Next steps:
- Boil the kettle to 80°C or 100°C, depending on the tea.
- Add a scoop or teaspoon of loose leaf tea per cup to your T2 teapot, Teamaker or a tea mug with infuser.
- Pour in the boiling water and steep for between three and five or six minutes. Learn how to brew like a pro with your Teamaker— explore the full guide here.
- Remove the infuser and pour into your favourite T2 mug or tea cup while inhaling the marvellously minty-fresh fragrance!
